– Brendon Burchard
I can’t believe it’s already time for another unpack! The weeks are going so fast right now!
Today’s quote is from coach and author Brendon Burchard, and it’s about how we add the most value when we are able to be our authentic selves.
Have you ever noticed that when you are super busy or caught up in the drama of life it’s really easy to become disconnected from your true self? And when we’re disconnected from ourselves it’s impossible to connect on any meaningful level with anyone else, let alone make a worthwhile contribution. It can very quickly take a toll on our most important relationships, from home to work and everywhere in between.
The slide into a life that doesn’t feel genuine can happen very gradually, and sometimes we don’t even know it’s happening until we wake up one day and we don’t want to get out of bed to face the life we’ve created. Sometimes we have to wipe the slate clean and start again, but most often we just need a minute to reconnect and rediscover who we are underneath it all.
When we are unclear on our purpose we make decisions using trivial criteria, instead of making decisions that purposely move us toward realising our life’s work. When we are clear, on what we’re about and what we’re here for, we can connect to people on another level, and the world can enjoy the best we have to offer.
How can you be more true to yourself this coming week?
Here are a couple of quick suggestions:
– write in a journal – start one if you don’t already have one. You’ll be surprised the answers you can find when you just let yourself write.
– set aside time to meditate (check out the Live and Dare Beginners Course if you’re new to it)
– reflect on what brings you to life, what you’re most passionate about. It’s likely that your purpose lies within this realm.
– every time you have to make a decision this week (small or large) ask yourself why you are making that choice? Is it out of love, obligation, boredom, fear etc? You don’t have to change the decision, simply make a point to become aware of the why behind it. If you are unhappy with the why, then look for ways to adjust.
What are your favourite things to do to get you back on track after a rough patch? Why not share in the Next Level Life Facebook group – you might have the answer someone else is looking for!
I hope you have the most incredible week being authentically you!
Until next time,
