Extended DISC

Behavioural Profiling

Have you ever wondered:

  • What makes people tick?
  • Why we behave the way we do?
  • Why some people get along with everyone and others struggle to connect?
  • Why some people can make decisions on the fly while others need to mull it over?
  • What makes some people big picture thinkers and others detail oriented?
  • Why it's so easy to spend time doing some things but other activities quickly drain you?

All of these questions - and many more - can be explored using the Extended DISC® behavioural profiling tool.

Extended DISC® is grounded in DISC theory, originally developed by psychologist William Moulton Marston and influenced by the early work of Carl Jung. The framework organises behavioural expression into four primary styles: Dominance, Influence, Stability and Compliance.

Unlike a personality test, Extended DISC® focuses on observable behaviour and energy patterns - how we communicate, respond under pressure and interact with others. Because behaviour can be adapted with awareness, the insights gained are practical and actionable.

The tool can be profoundly useful in both personal and business settings. From understanding why a relationship may be tense, to hiring staff who will fit easily into an existing team, the applications are endless.

Behavioural insights that strengthen capability.

Extended DISC is not another personality typing tool, and it's not about labelling people. It is about understanding how individuals naturally communicate, make decisions and respond under pressure - and using that insight to improve leadership and team effectiveness.

For neurodivergent professionals, including those with ADHD, this strengths-based framework is especially powerful. Rather than focusing on deficits, Extended DISC provides practical language to understand behavioural energy, working style and impact - creating clarity without pathologising difference.

Energy・Alignment・Sustainability

We all adapt our behaviour at work. The question is: at what cost?

Extended DISC highlights which behaviours are energising and which are more energetically demanding. For leaders operating outside their natural style for extended periods - particularly those with ADHD who are likely "masking" at work already - the energy drain can contribute to inconsistency and burnout.

By understanding individual behavioural patterns, organisations can better align roles, expectations and support structures - improving both performance and retention.

From insight to flexibility.

The real value of Extended DISC lies in building behavioural flexibility. Leaders who understand their natural style can expand their range of responses - strengthening communication, reducing friction and navigating complexity with greater confidence - without burning out.

When applied through coaching and leadership programs, behavioural insight becomes a practical performance tool - supporting diverse minds to lead and contribute at their best.

For individuals

A young woman smiles at the camera. She's sitting at her desk in the office. An open laptop on the table in front of her.

Extended DISC is a powerful yet practical behavioural profiling tool for business owners, leaders and professionals who want deeper insight into how they naturally think, communicate and perform at work.

It can quickly identify how someone is naturally inclined, allowing them to improve performance and productivity, communication and teamwork by capitalising on their natural strengths and motivators. It is a great first step in expanding self-awareness and understanding in the workplace.

For neurodivergent professionals, including those with ADHD, this framework can be especially valuable. It provides a neutral, strengths-based lens for understanding working style, energy patterns and behavioural responses — without pathologising difference.

How it helps

Key benefits of Extended DISC for individuals include:

  • Greater clarity around your natural strengths, motivators and stress responses
  • Insight into blind spots and unhelpful behavioural habits
  • Improved communication and influence
  • Stronger decision-making under pressure
  • Increased behavioural flexibility
  • Better energy management and reduced burnout risk
  • More sustainable, confident performance

For business owners, this insight often reveals how dominant styles shape delegation, strategic thinking and growth decisions. For leaders, it builds the self-awareness required to lead diverse teams effectively.

Each profile includes a comprehensive report and facilitated unpack session so you won't be left wondering what any of it means, and you'll walk away with a concrete action plan to maximise your learning.

What clients say...

Tara

business owner

I didn’t expect such a short assessment to be so accurate. It picked up not just how I work, but how I feel under pressure. I felt understood in a way I haven’t before at work.

Jared

operations support

As someone with ADHD, I’ve had plenty of feedback conversations that felt heavy or deficit-focused. This was different. It helped me understand how I’m wired without making it feel like something needed to be fixed. I left feeling clearer and more confident.

Jamie

creative director

The biggest lightbulb moment for me was around energy. I finally get why some tasks leave me wiped where some feel almost effortless. It’s helped me structure my week differently and protect my energy instead of constantly pushing through & burning out.

Camilla

senior leader

Wow, the EDISC unpack was quite remarkable. I now have a wealth of new information about myself and how I contribute to my team. I realise there are some areas I need to work on in order to be more effective but after our discussion I feel more confident in doing that work. Thank you!

For teams

While an individual profile is an extremely powerful tool for personal development, the capacity to use E-DISC for team development is where it really comes into its own.

Team assessments combine the individual profiles of team members into a single comprehensive report which helps to identify team dynamics, pinpoint gaps and development areas within the team, and compare communication styles.

Team reports show both the natural and real time/adapted profiles of each member as well as an overview of how the different behavioural styles exist across the team.

This can help to quickly identify what areas the team may need assistance to develop and where they truly excel.

How it helps

Extended DISC can help teams by:

  • Creating a shared, practical language for understanding behavioural differences
  • Reducing friction and miscommunication while improving collaboration across diverse working styles
  • Strengthening psychological safety & trust within teams
  • Supporting genuine neuro-inclusion by normalising different communication, pace and decision-making styles
  • Helping leaders adapt their approach to better support neurodivergent team members
  • Improving delegation, role alignment and performance consistency
  • Identifying behavioural stress patterns contributing to burnout or disengagement
  • Building behavioural flexibility across a team, increasing resilience under pressure

Used intentionally, Extended DISC becomes a neuro-inclusive performance tool - helping teams value difference, reduce friction and work more effectively together.

Annie

Interior Designer

I really enjoyed the team session - it gave me some great tools to consider when communicating with the other members of my team as well as feedback on areas for personal professional improvement.

I always come away from Jen's sessions feeling positive.

Sebastian

Graduate Architect

Last sessions exercise was an important step in cultivating a deep understanding of how and why each individual behaves as an employee in practice.

It was a necessary step in developing closer business relationships with colleagues which has since fostered positive change and boosted the morale and atmosphere of the office.

Thanks Jen for your contributions to nurturing and improving our practice to make it function at an optimal level.

Nurul

senior Architect

Thank you for the insight into the gaps in our team. Knowing that we were low in I energy on the team meant that we could look out for those qualities during the recruitment process.

We're really pleased with our newest hire who seems to fill the gap perfectly.

Ceri

interior designer

Really great session, it’s so useful to have an understanding of my colleagues approach to work and their preferences on how to communicate!

The Process

The E-DISC process is straightforward and simple.

1. Request a profile.

The first step is requesting your E-DISC profile (or multiple profiles for a team). Depending on your arrangement you may pay the fee upfront or on invoice.

2. Receive instructions.

We send all of the relevant information to you in an email. This includes full instructions on where and how to take the questionnaire as well as your unique access code.

3. Complete the online questionnaire.

You take the online questionnaire which will take around 8-10 minutes to complete. You should eliminate any distractions prior to taking the assessment and make sure you can focus solely on the questions.

4. Attend your 90 minute Unpack Session.

Once you've completed the assessment we arrange a time to go through your report and make sure you fully understand what it all means and how you can apply it to your current situation. There will be plenty of time to ask questions!

5. Receive your full report.

Having completed the unpack session, you will receive your report to keep. Generally we won't provide this prior to a session to avoid confusion and overwhelm.

What you'll receive:

Extended DISC Sample Report
  • Extended DISC Questionnaire
Access the official Extended DISC online questionnaire, available in over 70 languages.
  • Unpack Session
