All of these questions and many more can be answered through the Extended DISC® behavioural profiling tool. Extended DISC® is based on the DISC theory developed by psychologist (and inventor of Wonder Woman!) William Moulton Marston and introduced in his book Emotions of Normal People, almost a century ago. 

This theory was based on early work by Carl Jung and places the expression of human emotion into four behaviour types: Dominant, Influence, Stability and Compliance. The DISC assessment was later developed by psychologist Walter Clarke and has since been used by more than 50 million people worldwide. In 1994 Jukka Sappinen took DISC to the next level and developed the Extended DISC® system we use today. 

Extended DISC® can be profoundly useful in both personal and business settings. From understanding why a relationship may be tense, to hiring staff who will fit perfectly into a team, there are myriad applications. Unlike a personality test the E-DISC profile addresses energy and behaviour styles which can be changed or adapted with awareness and conscious effort.

E-DISC Profiling for Teams


While an individual profile is an extremely powerful tool for personal development, the capacity to use E-DISC for team development is where it really comes into its own. Team assessments combine the individual profiles of team members into a single comprehensive report which helps to identify team dynamics, pinpoint gaps and development areas within the team, and compare communication styles. 

Team reports show both the natural and real time/adapted profiles of each member as well as an overview of how the different behavioural styles exist across the team. This can help to quickly identify what areas the team may need assistance to develop and where they truly excel. This knowledge alone can improve employee engagement levels, however learning more about colleagues unique wiring and providing feedback on individual strengths in an E-DISC Team Session, is even more powerful in achieving this goal.

The Process

The E-DISC process is straightforward and simple.  

1. Request a profile

The first step is requesting your E-DISC Profile. Depending on your arrangement you may pay the fee upfront or on invoice.

2. Receive Instructions

We send all of the relevant information to you in an email. This includes full instructions on where and how to take the questionnaire as well as your unique access code.

3. Take questionnaire

You take the online questionnaire which will take around 8-10 minutes to complete. You should eliminate any distractions prior to taking the assessment.

4. 90 minute unpack

We arrange a time to go through your report and make sure you fully understand what it all means and how you can apply it to your current situation. There will be plenty of time to ask questions!

5. receive report

Having completed the unpack session, you will receive your report to keep. Generally we won't provide this prior to a session to avoid confusion and overwhelm.
